DPWH bares 3 big projects for Cebu
THREE big infrastructure projects are set to be built in Cebu, according to the officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways Central office.
These are the fourth Mactan-Cebu bridge worth P76 billion, Mandaue-Consolacion-Liloan coastal road worth P31 billion and the Lapu-Lapu coastal road.
The DPWH officials headed by project manager Benjamin Bautista met with Governor Gwendolyn Garcia at the Capitol on Wednesday, May 17, to discuss the projects.
"Meron na po tayong detailed engineering design ngayon at kumpletohin po natin ang procurement process this year,” according to a statement made by Bautista and posted on Davide's Facebook page.
Bautista announced that works on the fourth Mactan bridge is scheduled to begin next year and be finished by 2028.
The bridge, which has a span of 3.34 kilometers, will connect the Mandaue City near the Cansaga Bay bridge to Barangay Ibo in Lapu-Lapu City.
The construction of the bridge will be paid for by a loan from the Japanese government's Official Development Assistance program.
The feasibility study for the 10.6-kilometer Mandaue-Consolacion-Liloan bypass road has already been done by Korean company DOWHA Co. Ltd.
The project will be funded by the South Korean government. (PAC, TPT)
