Lance Gokongwei stepping down as Robinsons Land president

MANILA -- Lance Gokongwei is stepping down as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) from February 1, the company said Monday.

In a statement, the firm said Gokongwei will remain as its executive chairman and provide strategic guidance to the company.

"Under his stewardship, RLC solidified its position as a leading player in the real estate industry," it said.

Gokongwei's sister, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, is also leaving her post as one of the company's directors.

Replacing Gokongwei as Robinsons Land President and CEO is Maria Socorro Isabelle "Mybelle" Aragon-GoBio, who has risen through the ranks in the company since 1993.

Robinsons noted that GoBio established the Logistics Facilities Division as a cornerstone of RLC’s portfolio. She also led the development of mixed-use projects like Bridgetowne in Pasig and Quezon City, Sierra Valley in Cainta, and Montclair in Pampanga.

Earlier in her career, GoBio also helped establish RLC's High-Rise Buildings Division, which allowed the company to capitalize on the growth of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.

Robinsons also said she advanced public-private partnership (PPP) projects with both local and national government agencies.

GoBio, who is RLC's first female president and CEO, has a management engineering degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, and a minor in international business from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
